Registration Overview
In order to attend any events or activities at Katsucon 18, you must be a registered attendee of the convention.
If you are a member of an anime club or similar organization, your group may be eligible to pre-register as a group to obtain additional convention registration savings, group registration will be available shortly.
Upon your arrival at Katsucon 18 and confirmation of pre-registration or at-the-door registration, you will be issued a personal badge that must be worn at all times in order to gain entry to events, activities and convention spaces such as the video rooms or merchant room. When picking up your badge, you must present a valid, government issued, photo identification containing your birthdate (school identification cards will not be accepted). Acceptable forms of identification include: driver’s license, state-issued photo ID, US Government or Military ID card, US or foreign passport. Other identity documents may or may not be accepted at the discretion of our Registration department.

What is a Katsucon VIP?
The VIP level registration has special benefits throughout the convention, including (but not limited to):
- front-of-line privileges
- a dedicated concierge team to ensure you get the most from your VIP privileges
- a T-shirt (please specify size when registering, either on the mail-in form or on-line)
- a different badge design than the rest of the attendees
- a souvenir bag
- priority checkin at Registration
- early entry into the Katsucon Marketplace

The number of VIP registrations is limited to 100.
Pre-Registration
Attendees are able to pre-register for Katsucon up until December 31, 2011. Registration is possible online, at the Katsucon table at other conventions, or by mailing in the Pre-Registration Mail-In form (Group form and instructions available in the Groups section below) shortly.
Please note: every person must be registered as a unique attendee (or submit an individual pre-registration form if registering at a Katsucon table or via Pre-Registration Mail-In form). Paper forms may not be used for more than one person.
Note: a Bounced Check Fee of $40 will be charged for any returned checks.

Rate Notices
Children under age 7 are admitted free of charge with a paying adult. VIP registration are not subject to any discount; this is a special, enhanced registration and is available by pre-registration only. See point 4 for further details.
- A Child must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times (hence, a Parental Permission Form is not required, but is recommended).
- A Youth should be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and a Parental Permission Form must be completed.
- A Teen does not need to be accompanied, but a Parental Permission Form must be completed.
- VIP registrations will be limited to 100; these registrations will include:

- Active Military personnel will receive a $5 discount with valid military ID (discount does not apply to spouses & dependents). This discount will be refunded from the full purchase price when Military ID is presented at badge pick-up.
- Groups of ten (10) or more people registering together will receive a $5 discount per person. Each member of the group must fill out a separate pre-registration form. A Group Registration Form (available soon!) with Point of Contact information must also be completed.
- Pre-registration forms postmarked after December 31st, 2011 will not be accepted.
In order to pick up your registration, please bring a government issued, photo ID containing your birthdate and a print out of your confirmation email. Government issued Photo ID containing your birthdate is required, and the confirmation email is helpful in the event of misspellings or problems, as it is proof of registration. All attendees are required to be present in order to pick up their own badges.

Group Registration
If you are a member of an anime club, similar organization, or just a group of friends, your group may be eligible to pre- register as a group to obtain additional convention registration savings. Groups of 10 or more qualify for a discount of $5 per group member off the pre-registration price. There is no group registration discount if you register at the door.
Every member of a Group must include an individual Pre-Registration Mail-In form, packaged together with the Group Registration form.
At-Door Registration
Registration for both full weekend and single day badges will be available on-site. Forms of payment accepted on-site are cash and credit card only. No personal checks or money orders, please.
Attendees aged 13 to 17 are 25% off. Attendees aged 7 to 12 are 50% off. Children under age 7 are admitted free of charge with a paying adult.

Friday and Saturday one-day badges are valid until 8:00am the next morning. They can also be upgraded to a full weekend badge by paying the difference between the one-day and full weekend prices.
Registration hours will be posted prior to the convention.
Photo Identification and Parental Permission Forms
All attendees 13 and older are required to show photo identification in order to pick-up or purchase a registration. (Attendees 12 and younger who are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, also registered for the convention and bearing the required ID are exempt.) Please have your government-issued photo ID or ISIC (International Student Identity Card), containing birthday, out and ready when you approach the registration desk in order to speed your registration. Accepted forms of identification include:
- Driver’s license or learner’s permit
- State-issued Non-Driver ID Card
- Passport
- ISIC (International Student Identity Card)
- Government or Military ID
If you or your child does not have a photo ID, you may be able to obtain one at a reasonable fee through your state’s Motor Vehicles office. If you have questions or require assistance, please contact us.
All attendees under the age of 18 as of February 17, 2012 are required to have a signed copy of the Parental Permission Form to be given to registration staff. There will be ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS to this policy. Copies of the form will be available at the registration desk, and can also be downloaded here or found at the bottom of the mail-in pre-registration form (available soon). These forms are required for all attendees under 18, no exceptions.
Badge Replacement Policy
In the event you lose your badge, please check with both the convention’s Lost and Found as well as the hotel’s. If neither location has your badge, you may purchase a new badge at Registration for a reduced price with proof of registration. If you pre-registered, please show your photo ID to the Registration staff and they will locate your registration in our pre- registration list. If you registered at the convention, please bring your receipt as well as your photo ID as proof of registration.
- Replacement for single day badge: $10 ($5 for Children 7-12; $7 for Teen 13-17)
- Replacement for full weekend badge: $20 ($10 for Children 7-12; $15 for Teen 13-17)
Refund Policy
While we hope everyone who expresses a desire to attend Katsucon has the opportunity to enjoy our convention experience, we understand that life sometimes interferes with travel plans. To that end, we will honor requests for refunds of pre-registration fees if they meet the following criteria:
- All requests for refund must be post-marked by Wednesday, February 1st, 2012, or received by e-mail on or before Friday, February 10th, 2012.
- Refunds of individual group registrations will only be accepted from and mailed to the group contact.
- All requests must include the complete mailing address of either the attendee (if not registered as a member of a group) or the group contact, to compare against our records (and to ensure no data entry errors in the mailing address).
- All refunds will be mailed to the address in our electronic records, unless evidence is provided in the refund request which verifies both identity and a change of address.
- If the original payment was made by check or credit card, then the refund will be issued to the account holder’s name on that check or credit card. If payment was made by other means, then the refund will be made out to the attendee’s (or guardian’s, if available) name.
- Refund requests will be processed beginning thirty (30) days after the convention.
Badge Transfer Policy
If you’ve pre-registered to come to Katsucon and find yourself unable to attend, you can request that your registration be transferred to another person by doing the following:
- Send an e-mail to pre-reg@katsucon.org with "Katsucon Registration Transfer" in the subject line. This e-mail must be sent from the e-mail address that the person transferring the registration gave us when they pre- registered for Katsucon.
- In that e-mail, the person transferring their registration should give the name, city and state used to pre-register, and should say that they wish to transfer their registration to the following person, and they need to give us the following information for the new registrant:
- First and Last Name
- Address
- Phone Number
- E-mail Address
- Is the new registrant over 18, yes or no?
- All transfer requests must be received by e-mail by Wednesday, February 1st, 2012. No transfer requests can be processed after that time. After that date, please see Katsucon’s refund policy.
- Please note that once a registration badge has been picked up, that badge is not transferable to another person during the convention.

At-Door Registration Refund Policy Policy
Generally, no refunds will be issued for at-door registrations purchased at the convention. Exceptions may be made at the sole discretion of the either the Convention Chair or Treasurer. Refund requests must be made during the convention. These personnel may be located by going to the Information Booth and asking that one of them be contacted via the convention radio.
At-Door and Pre-Registration Rollover Policy
Since the attendee rates for the convention may vary from one year to the next, no rollovers of at-door or pre-registrations from one year to the next are allowed. If you are pre-registered to attend Katsucon and cannot attend this year’s convention, please ask for a refund prior to the convention.
Filming Disclaimer
By attending Katsucon, you will be subject to the following agreement:
I, [your name] have been made aware that Katsucon is being filmed by the Video Productions Dept. I automatically agree that either I will make the film crew aware if I do not wish to be filmed OR I automatically agree to be filmed and am giving permission to Katsucon, and anyone affiliated to use the footage without compensation or acknowledgement. Camera operators can be approached at any time with any questions or concerns.
