Katsucon 16 Registration

Registration Overview

In order to attend any events, activities or convention facilities at Katsucon 16, you must be a registered attendee of the convention.

If you are a member of an anime club or similar organization, your group may be eligible to pre-register as a group to obtain additional convention membership savings (see Group Pre-Registration).

Upon your arrival at Katsucon 16, and confirmation of pre-registration or at the door registration, you will be issued a personal membership badge that must be worn at all times in order to gain entry events, activities and convention spaces such as the video rooms or merchant room. When picking up your badge, you must present formal identification. Acceptable forms of identification include: driver’s license/state-issued non-driver ID, US Government/US Military ID card, US or foreign passport, college or school ID with photograph. All other identity documents will be accepted at the discretion of the Registration department head.

Panelists please come to station #1 at Registration, state that you are a Panelist, and the Registration Staff will call the Programming Dept who will then come and meet you with your badge.

If you followed the instructions for pre-registration, and you cannot find your name in the list below, or have noted a typo, please e-mail the Katsucon Pre-Registration Department with your concerns as soon as possible. The convention is fast approaching, and we want to have all of your concerns resolved well in advance, so everyone can concentrate on enjoying the convention!

This list is updated by hand. It may take one-two weeks for your name to appear on this list. If you’ve pre-registered online you will receive an automatic confirmation email. Thank you for your patience.

At-Door Registration

Registration for both full weekend and single day badges will be available on-site. Forms of payment accepted on-site are cash and credit card only. No personal checks or money orders, please.

Attendees ages 7 to 12 are 50% off. Children under age 7 are admitted free of charge with a paying adult.

Friday and Saturday one-day badges are valid until 8 a.m. the next morning. They can also be upgraded to a full weekend badge by paying the difference between the one-day and full weekend prices.

Policy on Attendees Under 18 Years of Age

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING ATTENDEES UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE

All attendees under the age of 18 as of Friday, February 12, 2010 MUST present a completed and signed parental permission form in order to be issued a membership badge. There will be ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS to this policy. So please, if this applies to you, download the form (available at the bottom of the individual Pre-Registration form or, independently, here), print it, have your parent or legal guardian sign it, and bring it with you to the convention to give to the Registration Staff when you purchase your badge. We repeat, there will be ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS to this policy.

Photo Identification and Parental Permission Forms

All attendees are required to show photo identification in order to pick-up or purchase a registration. Please have your photo ID out and ready when you approach the registration desk in order to speed your registration. Accepted forms of identification include, but are not limited to:

  • US Passport
  • Permanent Resident Card
  • Drivers License
  • Government issued ID card with Date of Birth (Federal, State, or local)
  • Military ID

All attendees under the age of 18 as of February 12, 2010 are required to have a signed copy of the Parental Permission Form to be given to registration staff. There will be ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS to this policy. Copies of the form will be available at the registration desk, and can also be downloaded here for those choosing to register at the door. The form can also be found at the bottom of the mail-in pre-registration form. These forms are required for all under 18 attendees, no exceptions.

All attendees MUST pick up their own badges. Groups may approach the Registration desk together, but each member MUST present their photo ID.

Badge Replacement Policy

In the event you lose your badge, please check with both the convention’s Lost and Found as well as the hotel’s. If neither location has your badge, you may purchase a new badge at Registration for a reduced price with proof of registration. If you pre-registered, please show your photo ID to the Registration staff and they will locate your registration in our pre-registration list. If you registered at the convention, please bring your yellow receipt as well as your photo ID as proof of registration.

  • Replacement for single day badge: $10 ($5 for Children 7-12)
  • Replacement for full weekend badge: $20 ($10 for Children 7-12)

Online pre-registration for Katsucon 16 is available for weekend badges and will be open until January 31, 2010. Please review all our registration policies (this page) as well as our general attendee policies before you arrive at the convention.

Until December 31: $45 ($22 for children 7-12)
Until January 31: $50 ($25 for children 7-12)

Pre-registration is not available for single day badges, only Weekend Badges are eligible for pre-registration. Daily badges are available at the door, only.

The group discount of $5 off per person is not available through Online Pre-Registration; it is available by mail-in form only at this time. If you have a group of 10 people or more, please download and print our Group Registration form to take advantage of the group discount (include individual Pre-Registration forms for each member of your group along with your Group Registration form when you mail it in).

Group Registration

If you are a member of an anime club, similar organization, or just a group of friends, your group may be eligible to pre-register as a group to obtain additional convention membership savings. Groups of 10 or more qualify for a discount of $5 per group member off the pre-registration price. There is no group registration discount if you register at the door.

All attendees MUST pick up their own badges. Groups may approach the Registration desk together, but each member MUST present their photo ID.

Refund Policy

While we hope everyone who expresses a desire to attend Katsucon has the opportunity to enjoy our convention experience, we understand that life sometimes intervenes with travel plans. To that end, we will honor requests for refunds of pre-registration fees if they meet the following criteria:

  • All requests for refund must be post-marked on or by Thursday, February 11, 2010, or received by e-mail before 10am on Friday, February 12, 2010.
  • Refunds of individual group registrations will only be accepted from and mailed to the group contact.
  • All requests must include the complete mailing address of either the attendee (if not registered as a member of a group) or the group contact, to compare against our records (and to ensure no data entry errors in the mailing address).
  • All refunds will be mailed to the address in our electronic records, unless evidence is provided in the refund request which verifies both identity and a change of address.
  • If the original payment was made by check or credit card, then the refund will be issued to the account holder’s name on that check or credit card. If payment was made by other means, then the refund will be made out to the attendee’s (or guardian’s, if available) name.
  • Refund requests received by pre-registration staff either by e-mail or first class mail by Friday, February 5, 2010 will be processed before the convention.

Pre-Convention Attendee Badge Transfer Procedure

If you’ve pre-registered to come to Katsucon and find yourself unable to attend, you can request you’re your registration be transferred to another person by doing the following:

  1. Send an e-mail to pre-reg@katsucon.org with "Katsucon Registration Transfer" in the subject line. This e-mail must be sent from the e-mail address that the person transferring the membership gave us when they pre-registered for Katsucon.
  2. In that e-mail, the person transferring their membership should give the name, city and state used to pre-register, and should say that they wish to transfer their registration to Katsucon 16 to the following person, and they need to give us the following information for the new registrant:
    • First and Last Name
    • Address
    • Phone Number
    • E-mail Address
    • Is the new registrant over 18, yes or no?
  3. All transfer requests must be received by e-mail by Sunday, February 7, 2010. No transfer requests can be process after that time. After that date, please see Katsucon’s refund policy.
  4. Please note that once a registration badge has been picked up, that badge is not transferable to another person during the convention.

At-Door Registration Refund Policy

Generally, no refunds will be issued for at-door registrations purchased at the convention. Exceptions may be made on the sole discretion of the either the Convention Chair or Treasurer. Refund requests must be made during the convention. These personnel may be located by going to the Information Booth and asking that one of them be contacted via the convention radio.

At-Door and Pre-Registration Rollover Policy

Since the attendee rates for the convention may vary from one year to the next, no rollovers of at-door or pre-registrations from one year to the next are allowed. If you are pre-registered to attend Katsucon and cannot attend this year’s convention, please ask for a refund prior to the convention.
