Panels

The Panels Department (Formerly Live Programming)

We’ve rebranded!

In an effort to mitigate confusion, we’ve changed our name to Panels, but we still provide the same services we have for years. We facilitate many (though not all) of the fan panels, guest panels, and video programming options at Katsucon. We also handle panelist registration.

Interested in Submitting a Panel Application?

Is there a discussion topic you’ve always wanted to see covered at Katsucon?

A gameshow you’ve always wanted to run?

A new or obscure fandom you just have to let everyone know about?

You could be the one to make it happen!

If you are interested in submitting a panelist application, please visit our Division’s webpage at Programming for an overview of our application process, frequently asked questions, and a link to the application.

Age Restriction Disclaimer

This department hosts panels and events which may be suitable for a variety of audiences, including those that are for adults only.

Anyone entering an 18+ panel room at Katsucon must be wearing an 18+ wristband, including the people presenting the panel. The Panels Department will not check IDs at the door. Please see our general policies page Code of Conduct for further details.

Panelist Badge and Registration Information

Panelist Registration is managed by the Panels department.  All approved panelists will receive registration information directly from Panels. If your panel was approved and you have questions about Panelist Registration, please email us at: [email protected]

If your panel is approved for Katsucon 2026, then you will qualify to receive a Panelist Badge.  There is a maximum of two (2) panelists that qualify to receive a Panelist Badge for each panel, then anyone over the two (2) person limit can purchase a regular Attendee Badge to participate.

The person who submitted the application will be considered the Lead Panelist. The names submitted on the application will be assumed to be the names of the persons receiving a Panelist Badge. Any changes to these names must be approved by the Programming Division.

If your panel is approved, you will receive Panelist Registration information by email before February 1st.  Panelists are strongly encouraged to pre-register for their badge to avoid delays on-site. Once you arrive at the convention you will pick up your badge at Panelist Registration.
