Overview
Get together a team of your best friends for Katsucon’s Idol Show!
Open to idol groups inspired by anime, cosplay, or original concepts, this is a dance-focused showcase where your group can shine alongside other idol performers.
Note: This year’s show will not be judged, allowing more groups to participate. Our goal is to celebrate performance, creativity, and community.
General Rules
- All participants must be registered Katsucon attendees.
- Group leaders must confirm that all members are registered before submitting the group.
- This is a family-friendly event.
- All performances and costumes must adhere to a PG-13 standard:
- No explicit gestures
- No nudity
- No swearing or offensive language
- All onstage and backstage behavior must be appropriate
- Costumes and props must comply with Katsucon Convention policies.
- Nothing may be left on stage.
- All items brought onstage must be removed after your performance.
- The following items are not allowed:
- Toilet paper, tissue, rice, glitter, or confetti
- Water or other liquids
- Fire, fireworks, or pyrotechnics
- Props must be safe and manageable.
- Please ensure any props used can be safely brought on and off stage.
- One group per participant.
- Each person may only perform in one group.
- Group size is limited to 10 members.
- Check-in is mandatory.
- Failure to report during check-in times may result in removal from the lineup.
- The Katsucon Idol Head has final authority in all decisions and disputes.
- Stay in assigned areas only.
- Loitering in off-limits areas may result in removal from the event or the convention.
- No stage acrobatics or martial arts.
- The portable stage cannot handle heavy impact.
Performance Guidelines
- Audio Requirements:
- Submit audio in .mp3 format only
- A submission email will be sent to all pre-registered groups
- Audio must be submitted before the convention
- Intro Scripts:
- All introductions must also be submitted prior to the convention.
- Special Requests:
- Inform the Idol staff in advance of any unique elements in your performance.
- While accommodations are not guaranteed, advance notice increases flexibility.
- Time Limits:
- Groups of 1–5 participants: 2 minutes maximum
- Groups of 6–10 participants: 2 minutes 30 seconds maximum
Violation of any show or convention rules may result in disqualification.
Severe violations may lead to immediate removal from the convention.
Registration
- Opens: Friday, November 21st at 12:00 PM
A registration link will appear at the top of the event page when live.
Only one group member needs to submit the form on behalf of the group.
Check-In Process
- Group leaders of pre-registered groups must check in outside of Live 1 during designated times.
- Check-in confirms attendance and verifies submitted information.
- Failure to check in will result in cancellation of your performance.
If your group must cancel, please notify the Katsucon Idol Head as soon as possible.
