Maid Cafés are a special kind of theme restaurant that first appeared in the Akihabara area of Tokyo and became popular around the turn of the century. Unlike your typical Western restaurant, Maid Cafés are staffed by highly attentive workers of a novelty Cafés that provided extra care to individuals that they serve. As the name suggests, Maid Café workers typically dress in maid outfits or other forms of cosplay. Below, you can meet the Maids that will be working at this years Katsucon Maid Café!

	Aiko I am currently a student at West Chester University majoring in Music Education and Flute Performance with a Minor in Piano. I’ve been cosplaying since Otakon 2007 and I love it! I love sewing the costume and getting all of the pieces together. When I am not practicing or coming up with a new cosplay, I am probably playing video games(<3 Lego Star Wars!!), cooking, or reading manga. I look forward to meeting you!

	Atsuko Hi! I’m Atsuko! <3 I'm a college freshman, hoping to major in fashion starting next year. I've got lots of hobbies on the side like sewing, playing video games,sculpting, and running around in costumes. Theme parks are my passion, so if we talk expect to get an earfull about them ;] My current love is the 19th century writer Oscar Wilde, so you'd better be up to par if you hope to charm me!
	Ayame I’m a geeky artist type with a really strange sense of humor. My interests are many and varied, but I spend most of my time drawing. I’m a fan of Firefly and Jim Henson, I love Anime and Manga as well as American comics, and I have a fondness for rocks that cannot be described or understood by any one who hasn’t thought about pursuing a geology degree. I have an obsession with tea, adore baking and knitting, and have a habit of meowing. I also love to read, play video games, cosplay and to play RPGs.
	Biri Hey, all. My name’s Brittany; I’m a sophomore at Georgetown University, majoring in Japanese and linguistics. My hobbies include listening to music, eating, dancing like a crazy person, martial arts, ignoring phone calls, watching Asian dramas, and being a ninja. The best way to bribe me is with spicy food, kitties, sepak takraw, and/or pie. I hope to see you at the con!
	Celestia I am an elementary education major at her 3rd year of community college. I love anime, manga, yaoi, yuri… you name it I probably love it. I love to cosplay as different anime characters, so long as my body allows the outfit. Teehee! I love dressing up as a cat girl, as I am a sucker for ears and a long adorable tail! I am a lovable person who always wants to help people out. I am a girl gamer, as I love to play World of Warcraft along side my boyfriend and his friends. They all tease me since I am of the rare breed of females that do play. ^.~ What are my hobbies you ask? I love to sing, draw, act (theatre), role-play, play video games, and cosplay! 	Cin I’m 24, born in small town North Carolina, travelled around the world twice in pursuit of a degree in history, and came home again. I enjoy reading fantasy and sci-fi novels as well as historical fiction, eating delicious vegetarian cuisine, and collecting as much sanrio merchandise as humanly possible. You can find me in front of the computer playing WoW or in front of the TV watching old episodes of Trigun and Cowboy Bebop.

	Emi Heyya, my name is Emma, but you can call me Emi . I was a maid at the cafe last year, and let’s just say that I can’t wait to serve you again this year . I am definitely a Moe and I’m not ashamed to say that my personality is bubbly to the max. Meeting new people, talking and dressing in fetish-y costumes make me very, very happy, so expect to be entertained while you are at my table. We’ll have the best time together masters and mistresses, I’m sure of it!!!
	Hana Hi there! My name is Hana-chan, and I love meeting new people. I’ve been an anime lover since I was about 5, I’ve been cosplaying constantly! My hobbies are painting, dancing, some singing, and kicking butt at video games. Also do you know Vocaloids? WELL, I love them! I’m more famously known as BanzaiOtaku on YouTube as a funny, dancing otaku-vlogger. Oh, and I love really sweet or spicy food! Nice to meet you~!
	Hiro Hajimemashite. Watashi wa Hiro desu. Dozo yoroshiku. – Hello Katsucon goers! It’s a pleasure to meet you. My name is Hiro. Yes, like the TV show….*eye roll* My hobbies include: anime, comics and manga, video games, martial arts, and I hope to soon add guitar to that list. My favorite anime are Fullmetal Alchemist and Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu. My favorite manga are Paradigm Shift (by Dirk Tiede) and Death Note. This is only my second Katsucon and my first maid cafe, but I promise I will do my best to make your experience a great one! I hope to see you in February!
	Kurumi Hi, my name is Kurumi~ I’m a comic major at an art school in New York so I really love all sorts of comics! I grew up on manga but I’ve been really into American comics recently, I’m a major DC fangirl so if you like Batman or Watchmen or anything please come talk to me! <3 I'm also a really big fan of video games and my favorite is Team Fortress 2 although I'm no good at it at all... My favorite anime has to be Gurren Lagann, but my favorite manga is Gantz. My hobbies are sleeping and drawing! I love pretty things, the color pink, deco, and lolita! I want to grow up to become an amaloli! Or maybe a Pokemon master.
	Kya I enjoy cosplay and anime (of course ) my favorite cosplays that I’ve ever done are Rin Kagamine of Vocaloid and Link from Legend of Zelda, I’m always cast as the moe character when cosplaying with friends regardless of my random violent outbursts, I’m spoiled when it comes to food my favorite being beef barbaque…. I also fail at spelling but have a very large vocabulary…. I can’t sew to save my life therefore no I didn’t make my cosplay but I AM working on a Gwendolyn dress from Odin Sphere. This is my 3rd year at Katsucon and 1st working the cafe, I enjoy singing on youtube also as TheNextVocaloid. You may have seen me last year at the karaoke contest…. I didnt win but it was fun.
	Lauren Orsini I am a graduate student at American University in D.C. getting my masters in Journalism. Anime and fandom are often the topics of my enterprise reporting. When not hunting down the latest scoop, I can be found knitting socks, designing websites, or going out to eat with my friends. I love meeting new people, so don’t hesitate to say hi if you recognize me. Just don’t be surprised if I ask to interview you!
	Lily Tenebrae I’m an amateur writer and artist, usually know by friends for the vivid and unique tales that spur from my head. In ddition to being a big fan of several anime genres (Mech, shojo, shonen, yuri, ect.), I am also a big fan of Tokusatsu, or live action special effects television. Usually you can spot me listening to either some jpop or rock or even eurobeat while I write awy in my journal of story ideas. I enjoy going out to the movies, and seeing films that aren’t necessarily mainstream; usually original films and the such as oppose to remakes, prequels, adaptations and the sort. I like ideas that are new and interesting when it comes to story telling. Though I can be on the shy side and a tad soft spoken, I’m easy to get along with, and friendly to boot ^w^
	Magome Konnichiwa Katsu! My name is Magome, I am 23 yrs old, and 6’ 3” tall. I have a Bachelor of Professional Studies in Culinary Arts and Service Management from Paul Smith’s College in New York State. I am currently a Full-time Food Service Supervisor at Six Flags America, ‘The Nation’s Capitol of Fun,’ located in Largo, Maryland. I have a tendency to be a bit of a Ladette or a Girly-Tomboy. My favorite color is royal purple and my favorite food is soup especially noodle. My hobbies include: Anime, WoW, Model Rocketry, Drawing, Photography, Cooking, Reading, and an addiction to DVD’s of all genres and types except horror. This will be my second year as a Maid and I hope to have just as much fun as last year!
	Meshaw I go by Meshaw and I am nineteen years old. I live for festive events and traveling. I adore dressing up whether it be silly, fancy, or just flat out costume attire. I want to graduate in International Business or Synthetic Biology…Fashion is a tempting major however I’m sure I may be a bit to wacky for modern fashion tastes. My hair may or may not be blue at Katsucon..it changes a lot. Things I obsess over include cats & Legend of Zelda. Things I dislike include Twilight & wolves. I also have a questionable sense of humor.
	Michi Hey <333 I'm Michi. I am currently residing in a small town just outside of New York City in Westchester County. I love to cosplay and you can usually find me crossplaying as your favorite shota characters like Oz from Pandora Hearts or the Vocaloid, Kagamine Len. My daily life includes writing, reading manga, playing Persona 4 or WoW, sleeping, doing homework, and practicing violin for about four hours a day. My favorite anime titles include 07-Ghost, Higashi no Eden, Hayate no Gotoku, Baccano! and Katekyo Hitman Reborn! and my Favorite manga titles include Heart no Kuni no Alice, +C: sword and Cornett, Id, Izayakaku, and Akagami no Shirayukihime. 	Nai Born in 1990, Grew up all over the US and England, and central China, with 3 older sisters, and one older brother me being the youngest. Went to pre-K and Kindergarten in England. Moved back to the US when at age 5. Living in Virginia now and going to college and working part time. Always liking anime but being very shy yet willing to try new things. I love making Bento boxes in my spare time, I love cooking and learning to cook and eating all types of foods. Being a member of the DC Anime club helped me learn how to sew better, about cosplay and Japanese fashion. I would like to be a coplay model one day but for now I am just Nai ^ ^ <3

The name’s Niko and I am a student at the CIA, Culinary Institute of America, for baking and pastry in Hyde Park, NY. I am usually found dancing, singing, playing video games, and/or threateningly chasing after people. Do you know Maid of Cake? It’s a dance group that I am the leader of and the members are scattered along the east coast. We’re known for breaking out our boom-box and dancing at any given time. 	Rin Hello:D My name is Rin! I got into anime when I was about 5 watching Project AKO and My Neighbor Totoro thanks to my grandfather who had bought them for me after a visit to Korea. I found out that it was actually called anime my freshmen year in high school, sadley, but had been watching anime forever especially Yu Yu Hakusho, DBZ, Reboot, and Sailor Moon on Toonami:D I pretty much like every anime I come across or even manga so it is hard to choose a favorite. I like to talk (a lot), read, write, draw, sing, act, and play video games. I want to someday be able to create video games or fix america’s way of making horror films>.> I am obsessed with asian horror films and a good story weither it be in a book, anime, video game or movie. I hate big egos and olives. I also don’t believe in a first impression and I love the different personalities people have. I am a baby when it comes to cons going to my first anime con being AnimeNext of 2008 and have only so far have been to 3 cons (AnimeNext08 and 09 and AnimeUSA09 that just passed) this being my 4th. This is also my first time being a maid so I am excited and can’t wait to serve you!
	Roro Roro is a cute-loving maid ready to serve you! She enjoys various forms of art, such as photography and drawing, sings in her spare time, and loves cats so much that she can be found meowing on occasions. Although a bit of a scatterbrain, she will serve you with a smile!
	Saito Hey, the name’s Saito. I am a College Freshman, Majoring in Art and Design. I love Painting, drawing cartoons, martial arts, watching disney movies, acting, and singing. Anime?.. of corse i watch Anime! My favorites have to be Excel Saga, Azumanga Diaoh, Kuroshitsuji, Flcl, and YuYu Hakusho. I also enjoy arcade style games, DoDonPachi, Guilty Gear, and any beat game (DDR being my favorite of corse). Saito is here and ready to serve!~ すごい~
	Sana Sana is 19 years old and from NYC – a college student and budding entrepreneur, she has an unhealthy obsession with sweets, tea and baby kittens. She loves baby kittens so much, she really wouldn’t mind being one, (and often behaves like one) except for the unfortunate fact that being a kitten does not offer the vocal capabilities needed to discuss her favorite subjects.. metaphysics and philosophy~and that’s a problem! 	Sooshi Konnichiwa everyone! I’m Soo, a student at Georgetown University. I’ve always been a fan of anime and video games since high school, and I’m totally excited to be part of the maid cafe this year! My hobbies include listening to music, watching good movies, photography, eating exotic food, playing JRPGs & Rockband, and hanging out with friends. 	Tsukiko Hello everyone! My name is Cassandra and I live in Delaware. I’ll be 22 in January. This will be my 2nd year in Katsu’s Maid Cafe, and I’m glad to be back. I’m a very artistic person- singing, drawing, crafting, sewing – I do a lot of it! I have many cats (including a Lelouch and Euphemia). I’m really into video games- I’ve been playing  since I was four. I primarily play fighters like Guilty Gear, Blazblue, and Tekken. I love to cosplay too! I’m behind when it comes to anime and manga, but I’m hoping to catch up. My current faves include Kuroshitsuji and Code Geass. I’m taking a break from college, but I’m hoping to become a Japanese teacher. I also want to help design video games and start my own fashion label. I love music, and I also wanna be in a rock band someday! I’m a big girl too, but that doesn’t mean that I’m any less beautiful or awesome . Come say ‘Hi’ to me in the cafe and find out for yourself!

My favorite thing in the world is to wear kitty ear headbands and tails and can usually be found wearing them when out and about from things as little as grocery shopping to as big as going on dates. I enjoy watching anime, reading manga, video games, cooking for and serving others food, dancing, and dressing up. My favorite anime and manga is gender bender. My favorite video games are MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games) though I enjoy all types except fighters, shooters, and sports. My favorite type of food to cook is seafood though my talent seems to be in sauces. My favorite type of music to dance to is techno though I will dance to any. I love cross dressing and dressing furry and lolita styles and hope to one day make an outfit the mixes these to styles.
