Straight from the pages of Otaku USA’s Cosplay Café and presenting her Official “Nihon Maid Association Workshop” is the Princess of Japanese cosplay: YUNMAO AYAKAWA. Yunmao Ayakawa is one of the world’s highly sought after and top authorities on Japanese Otaku pop culture, cosplay, and the maid industry. After numerous Appearances in person and on TV in countries like England, Spain, Hong Kong, Holland and the U.S., Yunmao rightly earned herself the title of the first “International Cosplayer.”
Since her U.S. debut 3 years ago that gave the U.S. their first hands on experience with Japanese professional cosplaying and the Maid culture/cafes, Yunmao has become a permanent fixture in U.S. fandom with her ongoing Cosplay Café articles in Otaku USA magazine, her U.S. website and blog, and now the presentation of two new features to her brand: The Nihon Maid Association Workshop and her new comic series Yu Yu Maid. At Anime Mid Atlantic 2009 Yunmao hosted her first Nihon Maid Association Workshop to a packed classroom and rave reviews. Yunmao now brings her popular Nihon Maid Association workshop to Katsucon to introduce western cultures on the true formula used by Professional Maids. Yunmao will also be presenting her new “Yu Yu Maid” Comic series that will be written and illustrated by Yunmao herself and to be released soon by Taramaru Entertainment. Yunmao will be very active at Katsucon 16 with panels, workshops, signings, Cosplay, surprise appearances, and more activities that are yet to be announced! So stay tuned and Rock-Yun-Roll!
