Entryways and Bell Carts

In order to make things easier for everyone, the Gaylord has given us specific guidelines regarding the entrances we should use and their bell cart policy. Read more about these items on our Hotel & Travel page.

Bell Cart Usage
Please note: while the Gaylord will be heavily staffed in order to assist people as they arrive, they will not have bell carts available for attendees to use to move their own items through the hotel (bell carts are not allowed in the main hotel area, they are used only by the Gaylord staff and move through the back service areas).

Also: if anyone needs anything moved throughout the weekend from their sleeping room to the meeting space there is a $25 per cart charge which will be charged to the sleeping room or the individual will need to pay in cash.

Katsucon Still On Despite Snow!

Straight from the mouth (well… the forum posting) of our Assistant Chair:

“Consider this official: we will not cancel the con unless some huge unforseen calamity that will actually shut down the Gaylord, and we’re talking hurricane, nulcear blast, meteor, or in the middle of a fight between Gojira and Gamera. I think a place that size has a generator, and during Kat-SNOW-con, already mentioned before, we had the con anyway even though people were leaving in droves. Those that stayed behind will tell you what an awesome time we had. Drum circles, singing, free food, massage circles, anime,.. you name it.

- Snow will be cleared
- Any pending snow will be light
- If you’re going to be trapped (you’re not), why not in a hotel with power, water, heat, and anime fans?

So, don’t worry. It’s on. Just get yourself here, safely, we’ll take care of you.

So there you have it, folks. Katsucon is moving forward!

Reminder - Maryland Sales Tax ID

Just a quick reminder for those participating in Artist Alley: Katsucon, as the organizers, are submitting the paperwork to the MD Comptroller for the 30 Day Temporary Sales Tax License. Artists should receive the paperwork when they get home, if not before. What is important is to fill out the Exhibitor’s Affidavit (we will have blank copies at the con) and gave a copy of it present st your table. The SSN should be blacked out on the copy at the table (for security reasons), but legible on the copy that will be submitted to the MD state government. Please see the Maryland State Requirements Information post for more information.

Thank you!
